In the end we decided for a simple font of Myriad transparent as you can still see some of the action in the background due to the low opacity level of the font. We experimented with a number of different colours such as:
- red as we wanted to connote danger and originally have some form of red in it. This didn’t work as well as we had hoped as it was too dark and we though it was slightly hard to read
- blue as it looked melancholy, and grim, which we thought was a common theme of film noir and would work quite well but...
- Yellow/ gold was our final choice because it contrasted the footage a lot more than out other choices as well as we thought that gold connoted glamour and the theme of film noirs being known as ‘golden’ Hollywood.
